Bethany is licensed as a professional counselor with the state of Ohio’s Counseling, Social Worker, Marriage & Family Therapist Board (License No. E.2102475) She received her bachelor’s degree from Chatham University, and her master’s degrees from Pittsburgh Theological Seminary (M. Div.) and Ohio University (M. Ed). She also holds a Ph.D. in Counseling Education and Supervision from Ohio University. Bethany began counseling in 2009. Bethany’s most recent focus is her work with the LGBTQIA+ community, especially with persons identifying as transgender or non-conforming identity. She is trained by The Beck Institute for Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT) and the use of CBT to address suicide prevention. Bethany uses artistic techniques, bibliotherapy, and other creative processes to assist client in the therapeutic process. She has a great interest in existential and holistic counseling practices within a biopsychosocial framework and has experience working with cardiovascular rehabilitation patients and teaching communication skills.   Bethany is married to a cartoonist, has a cat, and enjoys reading.
