Are you feeling down, depressed, anxious, or stressed beyond your coping? Therapy can be a great option in helping you get back to being yourself. I know that the idea of therapy might be overwhelming and I'm here to help!

I became a mental health professional after spending about a decade as an emergency medical technician on an ambulance and realizing that our systems were not equipped to handle the mental health needs of everyday people. During this experience, I realized that many of us were one bad day away from being that person in crisis who needed to learn coping skills and alternative ways of dealing with life. As a result, I wanted to be a professional so that people could come to lay their burdens down and create a collaborative relationship in which an individual can feel free to explore every option without judgment or criticism.

Since those years on the ambulance, I gained a master's in social work with a focus on community mental health and have been practicing with clients for three years as a Licensed Social Worker. I incorporate aspects of mindfulness, cognitive behavioral therapy (CBT), dialectical behavioral therapy (DBT), interpersonal therapy (IPT), motivational interviewing, and solution-focused brief therapy into my strength-based, person-centered approach. I enjoy working with clients of adolescent to geriatric age who are experiencing or have experienced depression, anxiety, substance use, grief, trauma, first responder trauma, overwhelming stress or are going through life transitions and need extra support. I truly love approaching therapy with self-compassion, encouragement, and humor. I think that the key to having a positive therapeutic relationship is rooted in good quality communication, support, and unconditional positive regard.
