About
Hi, my name is Emily! I am a licensed Social Worker in the state of Ohio. I received my Bachelor’s degree and my Master’s degree in social work from Miami University. It is an honor and a privilege to empower others and walk with them through the journey of healing and growth. I believe therapy is an alliance between the therapist and the client. My goal is to create a space for clients to feel safe, listened to, and valued. Together my clients and I work on managing symptoms that are troubling them and identifying their strengths that can be used for positive change.
My areas of experience include, depression, anxiety, stress, trauma, low self-esteem, anger, adjustment disorders, ADHD, and crisis intervention. My clinical approach is client-centered, meaning the focus is on the goals that the client would like to accomplish. I draw from principles of Cognitive Behavioral Therapy, Dialectical Behavioral Therapy, Motivational Interviewing, Cognitive Processing Therapy, and Problem Solving Therapy.
