Jennifer Simic

LP (Ohio)

Therapist - Intern

Hello! I am a Counselor Trainee, and I will be completing my Master of Science in Clinical Mental Health Counseling at Wright State University. While I am new to counseling, my program has equipped me well to support clients in a variety of ways. I am willing to work with anyone 13 or older on whatever issues are weighing them down. My passion lies in helping those with religious trauma, complex trauma, and dissociative disorders. I have also found working with couples and families rewarding as well.

I take a narrative approach to counseling. This means that I focus on uncovering and exploring the narratives of someone’s life, and then we work together to create a new narrative for the future. This is a non-blaming, respectful approach that considers the client as the expert in their own life while I am the counseling expert supporting them. I will incorporate techniques from other approaches, such as psychodynamic counseling or dialectical behavioral therapy, to help the client take those steps toward a new direction in life.

I have a Master of Ministry from Cedarville University as well as a Bachelor of Arts in Comprehensive Bible. I am particularly well equipped for untangling damaging beliefs and habits instilled by the Christian church, and I would love to help anyone with those particular struggles, particularly LGBTQIA+ individuals.
