I am a Licensed Professional Clinical Counselor with a Master of Arts in Counseling from Cornerstone University. My background includes working in an outpatient setting with children, adolescents, adults and families with a variety of mental health and substance abuse concerns as well as being part of an intensive outpatient substance abuse treatment team. I have also worked in a school setting with young children, teachers, and families and at a university counseling center.
My first goal as a therapist is to partner with clients, building trust, creating a safe environment where client concerns can be explored, and working to gain an understanding of the client’s context from their perspective. Counseling goals are then formed as a result of collaboration between myself and the client based on their desire for change. I integrate treatment modalities such as cognitive behavioral and solution focused strategies as part of a holistic view of treatment to help clients work toward these goals. I enjoy working to discover client strengths and build on them in therapy. I am also happy to incorporate faith into our counseling sessions upon request.
Some of my clinical interests include anxiety, depression, low self-esteem, life adjustments, mood disorders, substance use disorders, stress management, and women’s issues. I am truly honored to walk with clients through this process.
