About

Hello! My name is Nyx, and I am a Licensed Social Worker in the state of Ohio. My methods are a mixture of CBT and DBT and I am a DBT informed therapist. I approach all clients from a perspective of trauma informed care, meaning that I understand that trauma comes in many different shapes and sizes and anyone can experience it, therefore I provide a safe outlet for my clients to process and work through their trauma. I am also working on building experience with neurodivergent folks and offer neurodivergent affirming sessions. I have three years of experience in the mental health field as well as lived experience. I prefer working with kids, teens, and young adults but I’m happy to work with ages 4+. My primary specialties are LGBTQIA+ populations and trauma & PTSD.

I started my career in 2020 after graduating with my BSW, at a residential treatment facility for kids in the foster care system with extreme behaviors that had experienced severe trauma. I also worked for the ION Center for Violence prevention where I provided crisis counseling for those that were experiencing intimate partner violence, sexual assault survivors, and domestic abuse survivors. I also assisted in teaching a healthy relationships group in the Campbell County Detention Center. I have also worked as a case manager at Greater Cincinnati Behavioral Health Services.

I am non-binary and my pronouns are they/she but any pronouns are fine. The most accurate way to describe my gender would probably be a forest fairy mixed with a raccoon. In my free time I like to spend time with my wife Vanessa and our two cats Gotham and Blair. I am obsessed with animals of all kinds, and I would pet an alligator if it wouldn’t eat me. I also love to read, play video games with my wife, listen to true crime stories, paint, do crafts, and reorganize my apartment for the 18th time.
