About

Hello, I'm Sara May, a Licensed Independent Social Worker (LISW). My approach to therapy is about recognizing your unique strengths and helping you focus on the positive aspects of your life, all with compassion and personalized care. I know that everyone has their individual needs. That's why I use a diverse range of therapeutic approaches, including Solution-Focused Therapy (SFT), Mindfulness-Based Cognitive Therapy (MBCT), Motivational Interviewing (MI), Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT), and other tools. I will meet you where you are in your mental health journey and provide a safe and nurturing space for you to achieve your therapeutic goals.

My educational background includes a Bachelor of Arts (BA) in Psychology from The Ohio State University, which I completed in 2017. While there, I also pursued minors in Criminology and Substance Misuse & Addiction. Subsequently, I earned my Master of Social Work (MSW) in 2019, also from The Ohio State University. My professional journey has been diverse, beginning at Netcare Access in Columbus, where I provided telephonic crisis intervention and helped secure shelter placements for individuals experiencing homelessness in Franklin County. I then transitioned to a role as a medical social worker at OhioHealth while also holding a PRN position with Kindred Hospice.

Ultimately, I aim to ensure that every client feels heard, accepted, and safe in our therapeutic relationship. Together, we can work towards positive change and a brighter future. If you're ready to take the next step on your journey, please don't hesitate to contact me.
