Sophia Zapf

My name is Sophia (she/they), and I am a Licensed Independent Social Worker with supervision designation (LISW-S) in the state of Ohio. I received my master’s degree in Social Work from the University of Cincinnati and have over 13 years of experience working with the LGBTQIA+ population, as well as experience working with adolescents in the foster care system and people living with HIV/AIDS.

I welcome working with diverse populations, especially those folks who are navigating diverse identities (gender, sexuality, family structure, race, ability, class, background, and neurodiversity, etc.…). I provide compassionate, culturally responsive, identity-affirming, trauma-informed counseling for adolescents and adults. I employ a multicultural framework that recognizes the pervasive effects of stigma, systemic racism, violence, and historic oppression on individuals, while also recognizing and valuing the inherent strengths of each person’s culture and identity.

I utilize a holistic, collaborative, client centered approach incorporating multiple therapy modalities that include: acceptance and commitment therapy, cognitive behavioral therapy, internal family systems therapy, motivational interviewing, multicultural therapy, solution-focused brief therapy, and strengths-based therapy.

I look forward to supporting you on your journey of self-discovery and healing.
