My name is Sophia (she/they), and I am a Licensed Independent Social Worker with supervision designation (LISW-S) in Ohio. I received my master’s degree in Social Work from the University of Cincinnati and have over 13 years of experience working with the LGBTQIA+ population, adolescents in the foster care system, and people living with HIV/AIDS.
I welcome working with diverse populations, especially those navigating diverse identities (gender, sexuality, family structure, race, ability, class, background, and neurodiversity etc.…). I provide compassionate, culturally responsive, identity-affirming, trauma-informed counseling for adolescents and adults. I employ a multicultural framework that recognizes the pervasive effects of stigma, systemic racism, violence, and historic oppression on individuals. I also recognize and value the inherent strengths of each person’s culture and identity.
I utilize a holistic, collaborative, client-centered approach incorporating multiple therapy modalities, including acceptance and commitment therapy, cognitive behavioral therapy, internal family systems therapy, motivational interviewing, multicultural therapy, solution-focused brief therapy, and strengths-based therapy.
I look forward to supporting you on your journey of self-discovery and healing.
