For the past 35 years, Terese has worked in both vocational rehabilitation and community mental health settings. She has worked with a variety of physical, mental, and learning diagnoses in a multitude of settings, Her professional and personal experiences  bring a  level of understanding to her client’s and their needs. Her ultimate goal is to guide her clients in gaining the ability to focus on their strengths, by combining a compassionate approach with techniques such as strength-focused, DBT, CBT, Rogerian and motivational interviewing.

Over the years Terese has developed a more holistic approach to treatment looking at all aspects of a person’s life including physical, mental, environmental, vocational and avocational, to help maximize potential in order to reach goals.

She believes the most important part of a therapeutic relationship is to provide her clients with a safe space, and accepting and respecting them where they are without judgment She believes in maximizing a persons strengths and unique qualities and  use a person-centered/eclectic approach to treatment planning. Terese would describe her approach as  gentle, caring, resourceful and sometimes humorous in her attempts to  provide her clients with connection, openness, validation and change. While her interests lie in the area of depressive, mood and anxiety disorders, as well as career change/discovery, she is happy to work with any motivated client. Her personal interests include spending time with her three dogs, traveling, concerts, antiquing, gardening and decorating.
