Yolanda is earning a master’s in counseling psychology at Sofia University in Palo Alto, CA, graduating in Spring 2026. She cares about strengthening resilient families and meaningful connections. With a background in psychology and community mental health experience, her path is guided by a belief in compassionate, systemic care. Her coursework covers family dynamics, couples therapy, multicultural competence, and ethics. Under licensed clinicians’ supervision, she practicum with individuals, couples, and families from diverse backgrounds, deepening her understanding of relational patterns, emotional health, and communication.

Yolanda is passionate about helping couples navigate life changes, supporting families through conflict and crisis, and promoting positive parenting. She is especially dedicated to addressing trauma, intergenerational patterns, and cultural diversity within family systems. In the therapy room, she leverages her expertise in solution-focused and narrative techniques. She communicates effectively with empathy and active listening, creating a safe, non-judgmental space. She also practices culturally sensitive and ethical therapy.

Yolanda aims to empower clients through relationship and personal growth challenges. She strives to become a licensed Marriage and Family Therapist advocating for holistic well-being and social justice, helping clients strengthen relationships and communities. Whether working with couples, families, or individuals, her approach is respectful, warm, and collaborative believing every person’s story deserves to be heard.
