Understanding Major Depressive Disorder (MDD)

Major depression, also known as Major Depressive Disorder (MDD), is a severe and debilitating mental health condition. Symptoms of major depression include:

  • Persistent feelings of sadness or emptiness
  • Hopelessness about the future
  • Loss of interest or pleasure in almost all activities
  • Recurrent thoughts of death or suicide

In the United States, major depression affects approximately 21 million adults annually, accounting for around 8.4% of the adult population.

What is TMS Therapy & How Does It Work for Depression?

Mindfully’s Deep TMS therapy is a well-established, proven, non-invasive procedure.  It uses magnetic pulses to stimulate nerve cells in the brain to alleviate symptoms of major depression and anxiety.

Why choose Mindfully’s BrainsWay Deep TMS:

  • Advanced Technology: Uses a patented H-Coil design for broader and deeper brain stimulation than traditional TMS coils.
  • Greater Effectiveness: Results in stronger neuron activation, fewer targeting errors, and higher treatment success.
  • FDA-Approved: Recognized as a safe and clinically proven therapy.

What to expect during a session:

  • In-office, non-surgical treatment.
  • Patient comfort: You will be seated comfortably while a clinician places a specialized padded helmet on your head.
  • Session duration: Each session lasts approximately 20–30 minutes.
  • Awake and comfortable: You remain awake and alert throughout the process and can resume daily activities immediately afterward.

Experience & Trust:

  • Mindfully holds a BrainsWay Select badge, meaning we are one of the largest TMS providers in Ohio with experienced clinicians and technical staff to deliver the care you need.
