More About Jerry Cervantes

Jerry Cervantes is a board-certified Psychiatric Mental Health Nurse Practitioner who brings more than three decades of experience in healthcare, emergency care, disaster response, and nursing education. Throughout his career, he has worked with individuals and families facing some of life’s most challenging moments, from medical emergencies and traumatic events to emotional and behavioral health concerns. Those experiences continue to shape his belief that every person deserves to be treated with compassion, dignity, and genuine respect.

Jerry works with adolescents and adults experiencing anxiety, depression, trauma, mood disorders, ADHD, relationship concerns, life transitions, and other emotional challenges. He understands that no two people experience these struggles in exactly the same way, which is why he believes treatment should be individualized rather than centered solely on a diagnosis. His approach combines thoughtful psychiatric assessment, medication management when appropriate, supportive psychotherapy, and patient education to help individuals better understand their mental health and move toward lasting wellness.

Before becoming a psychiatric nurse practitioner, Jerry served in a variety of clinical and leadership roles, including emergency nursing, critical care, mobile intensive care transport, disaster response, and nursing education. These experiences provided opportunities to care for people during times of uncertainty, crisis, and recovery, while reinforcing the importance of listening first and building trust over time. As both a clinician and nursing professor, he remains committed to helping others feel informed, supported, and empowered in their care.

Jerry welcomes individuals who may be seeking care for the first time as well as those returning after time away. He believes meaningful progress often begins with a conversation, and he considers it a privilege to partner with people as they work toward improved mental health and a more fulfilling life. He is happy to meet with patients in person or through secure telehealth visits, depending on what best meets their needs.
