Hi, I’m Taylor Shugars (she/her), a counseling intern dedicated to creating a safe, supportive space where you can feel truly heard. I’m passionate about helping people navigate challenges such as anxiety, trauma, neurodivergence, or simply the stress of everyday life. My approach is person-centered and multicultural, meaning I value your unique goals, experiences, and cultural background while working alongside you to foster healing and personal growth. I strive to create an environment where you feel empowered to share your story and explore what matters most to you.
I hold a Bachelor of Science in Psychology with a certificate in Minority Health, and I’m currently pursuing my Master of Science in Clinical Mental Health Counseling. My professional experience includes supporting children and families as a school-based care coordinator and working with children on the autism spectrum as a behavioral interventionist. These roles strengthened my ability to listen deeply, collaborate on individualized strategies, and help clients build skills for emotional regulation, coping, and connection.
My own lived experiences and intersecting identities have shaped my counseling approach, giving me a deep understanding of the importance of representation, empathy, and honoring diverse perspectives. I am especially passionate about supporting those who have experienced racial trauma, live with neurodivergence, or feel unseen in traditional care spaces. My goal is to meet you where you are, walk beside you at your own pace, and provide the tools and support you need to move forward. Whether you’re seeking help for yourself or a loved one, I’d be honored to join you on your journey toward healing.
