Hi, I’m Amy. Working in mental health nursing has been my calling as an RN for the last 10 years. In 2023, I graduated with my MSN as a Psychiatric Nurse Practitioner to use my professional and personal experience to make a difference for my patients. While my specialty as an RN has been primarily with children and adolescents, I have experience working with individuals across the lifespan in various stages of their mental health journey. Through my years of working with children, I have developed a desire to support parents and families as they navigate the difficulties of raising children with challenging mental health concerns.
My background includes inpatient crisis stabilization, trauma-informed care, domestic violence advocacy, substance use disorder, outpatient adult and child psychiatry, and health and wellness.
Medication may be necessary for some people, but it is not the only tool needed to achieve mental health. My goal is to meet the client where they are in their journey and support them in achieving mental wellness using a holistic and collaborative approach. I also feel it is important to work together with individuals to develop a plan of care that can include but is not limited to, ruling out an organic medical cause, therapy, working through situational stressors, lifestyle change, and/or behavior modification.
In my free time, I enjoy spending time with family and friends, traveling to fun places, and just hanging out with my dogs, Bentley and Alvin.
