Jennifer Schinke Kendrick is a Ph.D. candidate at the University of Louisville Kent School of Social Work and Family Sciences and a researcher at the Center for Family and Community Well-being. Her current research focuses on relational and health disparities for people with intellectual/developmental disabilities. She has over a decade of experience in community-based services, where she has worked with the autism and intellectual/developmental disability community. Jennifer is a Board-approved supervisor in social work for the Commonwealth of Kentucky and an American Association of Marriage and Family Therapists (AAMFT) Approved Supervisor. She served on the Kentucky Board of Marriage and Family Therapy from 2022 to 2025.
As a Licensed Clinical Social Worker (Indiana and Kentucky), Licensed Independent Clinical Social Worker (Minnesota, Ohio, and West Virginia) and a Licensed Marriage and Family Therapist (Kentucky), Jennifer has implemented training programs regarding parenting skills for teens and parents with low literacy and social skills curricula for adolescents with intellectual/developmental disabilities. She has specialized training in administering the Assessment of Basic Language and Learning Skills, Revised (ABLLS-R), the Verbal Behavior Milestones Assessment and Placement Program (VB-MAPP), the Autism Diagnostic Observation Schedule, Second Edition (ADOS-2), Eye Movement Desensitization and Reprocessing (EMDR), and implicit bias. While serving as a therapist for the intellectual/developmental disability community, Jennifer obtained specialized training as a loss doula. She has presented on eating disorders, organizational workforce sustainability, autism spectrum disorder, and marriage and family therapy ethics at the state and national levels. Jennifer earned a Bachelor of Arts in Psychological Sciences and Sociology from Purdue University, a Master of Arts in the Social Sciences from the University of Chicago, a Master of Arts in Women’s and Gender Studies from the University of Louisville, and a Master of Science in Social Work with a concentration in Marriage and Family Therapy from the University of Louisville.
