Cindy is an independently licensed social worker with the state of Ohio and a Licensed School Social Worker with the Ohio Department of Education. She specializes in school-based therapy and risk-behavior prevention. Her experience includes providing school-based counseling/ social work services in both urban and suburban settings. She has worked with elementary, middle, and high school students.
Cindy received a Bachelor’s degree in Psychology from Cleveland State University in 2003 and a Master’s degree in School Social Work from Case Western Reserve University in 2009. She has 10 years of experience in prevention research. This included work with the Prevention Research Center (CWRU), where she provided program evaluation and research support to a variety of community-based agencies and school-based partners. This work included a program aimed at increasing health literacy, a contributor to health disparities, and improving the health of local teens (i.e., decreasing risk behaviors, such as alcohol abuse, drug abuse, and risky sexual behaviors, and increasing healthy behaviors, including nutrition and physical activity).
Cindy utilizes a collaborative and client-centered approach. She utilizes a variety of therapeutic techniques but emphasizes mindfulness, solution-focused, and cognitive-behavioral therapy techniques.
