Jenesis Clark
MA, LPCTherapist
About
My name is Jenesis Clark and I am a LPC in Cincinnati, OH. While whatever is bringing you to seek therapy may feel challenging, I am excited for you and hopeful that taking care of yourself will lead to relief.
I believe that therapy should be a safe space to process what you are experiencing in order to find a way through. I have experience working with individuals who want to address their anxiety, depression, trauma, grief, cultural concerns, careers, fertility, maternal/parental mental health, romantic relationships, religious experiences, and general life transitions. I am social justice-oriented and passionate about supporting individuals in all walks of life, and especially those in historically excluded populations like the LGBTQIA+ and BIPOC communities.
My approach is focused on authenticity, support, and validation, with challenge when appropriate. I utilize an eclectic, Strengths-based, Person Centered Theory approach in therapy where I prioritize your story and experiences to ensure that you feel heard and seen as who you are. I utilize elements of Narrative Therapy, Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT), Motivational Interviewing, and Dialectical Behavioral Therapy (DBT) throughout our work together. Tools like grounding, mindfulness, meditation, and even humor can be very helpful during challenging conversations, so I might offer some of those in our work together.
I fully believe trust is a foundational part of the therapeutic alliance. I trust that you are committed to this process. I trust that we will both be authentic in our work together. Having trust in your intuition, trust in your therapist, and trust in the work you are doing are all elements that can help you feel safe and supported in this process. You are capable of great things, including relief. I am hopeful that we can work together to bring about genuine clarity and connection to yourself.
