More About Mel Sun

Hello, my name is Melva, but I go by Mel. I support individuals navigating stress, anxiety, depression, grief, trauma, and major life changes. If you’re feeling overwhelmed, unsure of your next steps, or weighed down by responsibilities and past experiences, you’re not alone. I work with people who are struggling with anxiety, depression, mood changes, trauma-related stress, life transitions, and the pressure of daily demands. My aim is to create a safe and welcoming space where you feel truly heard, understood, and supported as you start to make sense of what you’re going through.

I bring both professional experience and lived understanding into my work. I value meeting people exactly where they are and honoring the unique experiences that shape their lives. My approach is practical, supportive, and grounded in helping you understand how your thoughts, emotions, and behaviors connect. I often incorporate cognitive-behavioral therapy, mindfulness, motivational, and strengths-based strategies to build coping skills, improve emotional regulation, and support meaningful progress at a pace that feels right for you.

I am a licensed Social Worker with a master’s in social work, and I am currently working on my Independent License. I provide telehealth treatment and am happy to help you online through our HIPAA-compliant video platform. Reaching out for support is a courageous step. If you’re ready to begin your healing process or want to explore whether we’re a good fit, I welcome you to connect with me. You deserve care, understanding, and a space to grow, and I would be honored to walk alongside you.
