Jamia Smith (MSW, LSW) is a licensed social worker passionate about creating a safe, welcoming space for individuals and families to heal, grow, and feel fully understood. Jamia earned her master’s degree in social work from Walden University and her bachelor’s degree in psychology from Wright State University. She believes that everyone deserves support, compassion, and the opportunity to rewrite the parts of their story that no longer serve them.
With experience working with children, teens, adults, and families, Jamia brings a down-to-earth and supportive approach to therapy. She uses a blend of strengths-based, trauma-informed care along with evidence-based practices such as Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT), Solution-Focused Therapy, and mindfulness techniques. Her style is collaborative, warm, and deeply rooted in meeting clients exactly where they are—without judgment.
Jamia has worked in several community and clinical settings, supporting individuals through challenges such as anxiety, depression, trauma, relationship stress, life transitions, and everyday overwhelm. She also has experience helping women who have experienced trauma and crisis regain their strength. She is committed to helping clients understand their emotions, build coping skills, and reconnect with their inner resilience.
Jamia values cultural awareness, authenticity, and the importance of showing up as her genuine self in the therapeutic space. Her goal is to help clients feel seen, supported, and empowered as they move toward healing and personal growth. When she is not working, Jamia enjoys spending time with loved ones, exploring new ways to practice self-care, and engaging in activities that bring her joy and balance.
