Are you struggling with managing life stressors? Do you struggle with anxiety or depression? Are you a queer and/or do you live your life “alternatively” from the status quo? Do you just need someone to talk to? If so then welcome! I am Nyx Hoskins, a licensed clinical resident/therapist with a passion for helping individuals navigate life’s challenges and find resilience within themselves. With several years of experience in the field as well as lived experience, I am committed to providing a supportive and non-judgmental environment where clients can explore their thoughts and emotions and embark on a journey of self-discovery. I view therapy as a partnership where we work together to explore, understand, and overcome obstacles. My goal is to create a safe space where clients can express themselves authentically, fostering self-discovery and positive change.
I hold a bachelor’s degree in social work from Northern Kentucky University and am currently in the process of obtaining my master’s degree in social work as well. I have held a bachelor’s-level social work license in the state of Ohio since 2022. Additionally, I am DBT and CBT informed and have taken training on bystander intervention and crisis intervention. I am also in the process of becoming informed in Internal Family Systems. My therapeutic approach is rooted in client-centered therapy, which rejects the idea that therapists are the authority on your inner experiences. I primarily utilize “talk therapy” and focus heavily on personal experiences, providing psychoeducation, and learning coping skills.
I offer individual therapy sessions for adults aged 18 and older. I specialize in working with individuals facing challenges such as questioning gender identity and sexuality, anxiety and depression, managing life stressors, ADHD, and “alternative lifestyles” such as polyamory, ethical non-monogamy, and kink drawing on evidence-based practices to promote healing and personal growth.
I am non-binary and queer, and my pronouns are they/she. When I’m not working, you can usually find me obsessing over animals, creating art, attending a concert, or spending time with my wonderful partners.. My gender identity has been described as a mixture of a forest fairy, an emo teen, and a raccoon. I look forward to the opportunity to get to know you!
