Tammy believes that therapy is a partnership of which the client is the expert of his or her own life and circumstances. She is experienced in crisis intervention and is adept in diagnosing and treating a variety of mental health, substance use, and/or dual diagnoses issues.
Tammy is an active member of the National Association of Social Workers/NASW which equips her with a broad range of valuable resources to share with other helping professionals, and, more importantly, to better meet the individualized and/or unique needs of her client base. She was awarded the Carol Whichman Exceptional People Award in 2017 through the Mental Health and Recovery Board of Clarke, Madison and Greene County which is a testament to her level of passion for the recovery of those she serves.
Tammy is a devout Christian and, if desirable by the client/family, is comfortable incorporating faith-based ideas and/or elements into the therapeutic process. She is currently in process of acquiring additional certification in Christian counseling to add to current repertoire of skills and assets as a therapist and as a social worker.
