More About Elizabeth Barrett

There are times when life can feel exhausting and overwhelming. You may be carrying the weight of past trauma, struggling with anxiety or depression, grieving a loss, or trying to make sense of who you are and where your life is going. Sometimes things look fine on the outside, but inside you feel stuck, exhausted, or disconnected. If you are looking for a space to slow down, talk honestly, and begin making sense of what you’ve been through, therapy can help.

I am a Marriage and Family Therapist with a doctorate in Marriage and Family Therapy. My approach is warm, thoughtful, and grounded in understanding how our experiences and relationships shape the way we see ourselves and others. I often work with people who are reflective and curious about their inner world and want to better understand patterns in their lives. I focus on working with adults experiencing trauma and PTSD, anxiety, depression, identity questions, and grief or loss. In our work together, I draw from insight-oriented care as well as approaches like Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT) to help you build deeper understanding, strengthen coping skills, and move toward purpose and meaningful change.

Reaching out for therapy can feel like a big step, and it’s okay if you’re not sure where to begin. My goal is to create a space where you feel heard, respected, and supported as you work through what matters most to you. I offer sessions online through secure, HIPAA compliant virtual platforms. If you feel that we might be a good fit, I would be glad to connect!
