More About Karen Wagner

I’m Karen Wagner, LSW, and I have 30 years of experience in the mental health field and 20 years in the substance abuse field. I specialize in helping adults navigate their journey through addiction recovery as well as coping with depression, anxiety, grief, and stressful life events. My approach utilizes Motivational Enhancement Strategies and evidence-based therapies, such as Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT) and Dialectical Behavior Therapy (DBT), as well as mindfulness practices.

I believe in creating a safe, supportive, non-judgmental environment. I also empower you to choose personal goals, with autonomy and flexibility in defining targets. Utilizing a person-centered approach, I work with you to find an individualized plan, as there is no one-size-fits-all in therapy. I have a sense of humor and adapt to a variety of demeanors.

I understand that engaging in therapy is a major step outside of your comfort zone, and I commend you for taking that leap of faith. I also appreciate your willingness to entrust me with supporting you on this venture. I am an animal lover and am happy to include the importance of pets as part of the treatment process as well. I want to help you feel as comfortable as possible and work together to achieve your goals!
